There are many methods available to us today to study the bible, the Word of God to mankind.
Even in countries that violently oppose the bible, study tools are available via the internet or on-air broadcasts.
There is simply no excuse for us to be unaware of what the bible says.
From the printed book to the many apps and online resources the timeless Word of God is available more readily than any other book.

The Printed Book

There is something mystical and deeply satisfying in turning the pages of a good quality bible.
The satin-smooth, impossibly thin yet sturdy pages are a delight to turn and read.

My bibles are heavily marked with over 40 years of highlighting what God has revealed to me.
It’s always a delight to open these bibles and read the words.

I find the majestic language of the King James Version or the New King James version the best for deeper study and for committing verses to memory.
I find the New Living Translation and versions such as the New American Standard or the ERV (Easy to Read Version) the best for just reading through the stories.

My tattered old Thompson chain reference bible is a treasure. I can cross-reference any scripture, and get the original Greek or Hebrew word meanings very quickly. This is great when studying. The maps, the concordance, the charts and the countless notes make this the pinnacle of bibles.

Digital Bibles

In later years, my time spent in the hard copy bibles is less than in my early years as a Christian.

Quick reference, simple searches and portability have outgrown my reliance on the still treasured hard copies.

My preferred digital bible is the completely free Blue Letter Bible.

With it I have almost instant access to 20 or more version, and I can even isolate a single verse and read it not only in all these versions but in the original Greek and Hebrew as they were originally written.

I can access numerous commentaries, both in text and audio formats along with study tools maps, concordances and dictionaries.

The Blue Letter Bible phone app is one of the handiest tools for quick references on any subject relating to life and God’s plan.

Many Other Apps

There are many other bible study apps and resources around like the powerful E Sword online bible and app. Unfortunately there is no Android version available.

E-Sword – The Electronic Sword of the Spirit

The name “E Sword” means Electronic Sword. The Word of God is described as “The Sword of the Spirit” in Ephesians 6:17 and Hebrews 4:12.

These incredible resources are completely free.

Use any, all or a combination of these resources to really make the bible a part of everyday life.
